That notwithstanding, it has been the Android-OS smartphone makers that have been leading this charge when it comes to including AI to their phones. Right now, Oppo and OnePlus are on track to change the status quo following the announcement of their collaboration with Google to integrate Gemini Ultra-powered AI features into their devices. OnePlus recently included an AI Photo editing tool (photo eraser) for photo editing to its phones.
Till date, Gemini Ultra is yet, Google’s most powerful AI model. Google made this AI model (Gemini) available in three sizes: Gemini Nano, Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra.

While we yet wait to receive the full details concerning this collaboration, OPPO and OnePlus stated clearly their first AI features which will be powered by Gemini Ultra, will be heading to market “later this year.”
This partnership announcement from OPPO and OnePlus hasn’t provided the specific details about the date when these features will be available or which of their specific phones will support them. Nonetheless, it’s likely that Gemini Ultra will be exclusive made available in the premium devices released by OnePlus and OPPO, which may include and not limited to OnePlus 12, 12R, OPPO Find X7 Ultra, and possibly the soon to be released OnePlus Open 2.
The specific information OnePlus has revealed is that the company is also collaborating with Google to bring Cloud AI-based features to its devices. That also means that upcoming OnePlus phones will be enabled to use AI for tasks like analyzing and summarizing news articles, summarizing audio files, and many other functionalities which are similar to other flagship phones today.
